More than education, more than experience, more than training, an individual's level of resilience will determine who succeeds and who fails.
More than fifty years of scientific research have powerfully demonstrated that resilience is the key to success at work and satisfaction in life. Where you fall on the resilience curve-your natural reserves of resilience-affects your performance in school and at work, your physical health, your mental health, and the quality of your relationships. It is the basic ingredient to happiness and success.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.
I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot... and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that's precisely why I succeed.
There is one difference between those individuals who rebound sooner and those who rebound later from the disappointments they've suffered. Those who rebound sooner have opened their hearts to the notion that resilience is an art that can be learned. When misfortunes come their way, they do not let their pain whip them into extremes-neither frenzy nor denial. Rather, they engage with their pain, trusting that however complete the wreckage, the greatest possible good can yet emerge.
Disruptive change is an ongoing fact of life—be it challenges in health, business, relationships, finances, or any other area. The capacity to bounce back from these challenges marks the difference between individuals and organizations that survive and even thrive, and those that do not. Research shows that the skills required to handle disruptive change skillfully and effectively can be learned.
With this in mind, we created the Resilience Dynamics® body of work.
The Resilience Dynamics® body of work encompasses the skills, abilities, knowledge, and insight that accumulate over time as people meet challenges and surmount adversity. It is an ongoing and developing fund of energy and skills that can be used to navigate change and handle current situations more easily.
The approach used in the Resilience Dynamics® body of work is both didactic and experiential. We provide people with understanding, a set of practical skills that are useful personally and professionally as well as alone and with others, and a model for lifelong development and practice.
What sets us apart from others in the field?
The Resilience Dynamics® body of work rests on three pillars:
There are four phases to work through after experiencing undesired, disruptive change:
Individuals and teams are given a road map and guided in a lively exploration that covers a vast territory: assessing and strengthening individual skills, developing networks, changing or refining mindsets, creating an action plan, and utilizing resources.
The Resilience Dynamics® body of work and the individual skills that make up the Resilience Dynamics® Skillset are introduced as appropriate in all of Rewire Leadership's professional engagements and are infused throughout our website. Additionally, you will find a plethora of resources, information, and building blocks in our newsletter, PeRLs of Wisdom, and in our blog.
Rewire Leadership utilizes Resilience Dynamics® Consulting throughout our consulting process. We work with our clients to find solutions for all aspects of work life: high performance team development, strategic planning, decision making, organizational change management, and executive and leadership development.
Resilience Dynamics® Coaching weaves the Resilience Dynamics® skillset into executive, management, and group coaching sessions to develop leadership skills, high performance teamwork, problem solving, collaboration, and trust while at the same time diminishing defensiveness.
Rewire Leadership Institute® offers a variety of educational services in the Resilience Dynamics® body of work. These services include classes, seminars, conferences, and workshops.
All Resilience Dynamics® courses include training materials that focus on the development of communication, leadership, and high performance skills. Currently, we offer a 3 or 5 day version of the course. The primary difference is that the 5-day version provides a broader skill set and allows for more opportunities to practice. Because of the extended time, it allows teams to innovate and go beyond their current state of functioning by applying the newly learned skills to real work situations.
Rewire Leadership also certifies coaches, consultants, change agents, managers, and leaders in the use of the Resilience Dynamics® body of work for internal coaching, consulting, and training.
The Resilience Dynamics® body of work can be tailored to meet the needs of your organization - be it a small, medium, or large business, government, for profit, non-profit, startup, leadership team, matrixed team, or board. We are also available to give a key note speech or brief workshop.
