Knowing that the path of change is not always easy or clear, the PeRL provides direction and guide posts. It helps you enjoy the ride and reap the benefits.
The PeRL (The Process engaged to Rewire Leadership) was developed as a result of many years of experience. When I was 16 years old, how I felt on the inside was quite different than how I presented on the outside—at least, that was what I thought at the time. I didn't like the feeling of dissonance and made a commitment to myself to get my inside and outside to match.
From that moment on, I looked for people who knew about authenticity from whom I could learn. I embarked on a journey of change. I believed that I could feel peaceful and good. PeRL grows out of my own experience and those incredible human beings with whom I have had the privilege to work over the years. I hope that you, too, will benefit from the PeRL.
The PeRL provides a model for long lasting positive change. It allows you to build your brain, changing its very architecture. As you engage in the process, you will experience an increased sense of well-being, your relationship to yourself and to others will be enhanced, and you will be better able to accomplish your goals while maintaining a sense of equanimity.
PeRL is a lifelong learning tool that you can use for yourself, your relationships and family, as well as your career. You can focus on creating more joy, peace, clarity, ease, contentment, gratitude, focus, productivity, collaboration—really, any issue that you believe would help you live your life so that you feel a deep sense of satisfaction. PeRL can be woven into the culture of an organization. The more that individuals know how to do PeRL, the better teams function, and the resulting product is far superior. As teams become proficient at PeRL, meetings take less time, problem solving is more efficient and results in more creative and effective solutions, the decision making process is improved, roles and responsibilities are clearer, the team becomes more resilient and better able to navigate the challenges that arise, and people enjoy coming to work more. With the use of PeRL, organizations function less in silos and become more inclusive. True diversity increases as leaders and the workforce function with less fear and higher levels of trust.
PeRL is for anyone who understands that leadership starts from within and that authenticity and vulnerability are the makings of real courage. PeRL is for those individuals who want to become more self-aware, to learn how to ride the waves, as well as to take the reins of life in hand. As the ability to lead one’s own life is cultivated, leading others becomes more fulfilling and less stressful. As you use PeRL, you are able to drop your defensive survival strategies and replace them with a leadership approach that is based on authenticity.
